OVER BEFORE IT BEGUN?

First off let me add that this is strictly from my perspective. If you agree, cool, if not so what! Leave a comment and we can discuss it. You have the right to speak back, sheesh... After all, Obama is the President elect! Lol. Anyway... at the time that i wrote this, the Washington Wizards were 1-10 (just lost to the New York Knicks tonight) and to me is no surprise! Let me add that I am not a basketball fan but still a student of the game. I'm not trying to get in the league at this point but had my attempts at it in my day. I am cool with my situation and have enough experience in the game to say what i am about too. Now, let's start with the players. From top to bottom to name a few, here is my ranking of skill and game on this team, Gilbert, Caron, Jamison, Mcgee and after that take your pick. At the top Gil! We know his situation and hey, I'm glad that he got his money because these owners and franchises have no loyalty to anyone. Gilbert played the game and at the end of the day he won! He was a very good player before the injury and he is man enough to not let them rush him back. He understands that time heals and a speedy return will only keep him from continuing his career at the top of his game. Let's say that Gilbert has returned and that he's healthy, the Wizards ,may not be 1-10 but I don't think that they would be a top of they're division either. Two reasons, Ego and no winning experience. Gilbert and Caron are very good players and had great college careers, neither has experienced playing on a winning NBA franchise. That's this teams missing ingredient. Caron has the best skill package on the team, but without Gil, he has no one to compliment him. Jamison would be great coming off the bench in Cleavland or or playing for New Jersey. McGee has a great upside! When he learns the game and learns to channel his energy and develop a comfort zone, this kid is going to be good. Anyone I left out needs not to be talked about. The Wizards are doing them a favor. This year we are seeing a team that has no chemistry and can't figure the game out. It's because of lack of leadership and it starts at the top. The GM and player personnel for the Wizards has to be the worse. I wanna know the thought process when they signed these players. I guess winning wasn't in mind. I am no one to prove wrong, but prove the city wrong. These guys play hard every night but in the NBA, everyone plays hard and it's a game of chess. You can't play chess with all Pawns, and you can't play basketball in the NBA with no leader.

Thanks To Amy Herndon @ Timberland

My good friend @ Timberland Amy Herndon hooked your boy up with these new Timbo's from this year's winter collection. I know folks are going crazy over the Nike Boot fad but as always, "I'ma do me!" To the left you have the "Earthkeepers," the right "Scuff Proof Original style." The Scuff proofs are the rugged grimy last forever boots because they will never get a scratch! Water resistant and perfect for ice and snow. The Earthkeepers are also water resistant and will look good on those rainy days with a nice pair of jeans on your way to your favorite spot (Skye Lounge!) When you can't get in spots with your Nike Boots on, catch me on the other side of the rope in these joints! For my international travelers, the earthkeepers give you that Euro feel and style. 6 inch boots compliment a trendy style and makes jeans look there best. Cop a pair or catch me in mine and you'll see what the kid means. Later......

R&B Live @ Posh

Last night I attended "R&B Live" @ Posh. It's a monthly showcase of artist that is hosted by Carla Truitt. Carla is a good friend of mine who is also an artist managing and development partner with DC's own Chucky Thompson. Me Carla go way back like Skidz and AJ's! (youngstas don't think too hard.) The showcase was good and had a very nice and grown crowd. The admittance is guestlist only with no cover charge and you can make dinner reservations or loiter around the bar. This months performances were by Leigh Jones and Case. Leigh is and R&B Sultress who has a bright future ahead of her and is a very cute lady. She has a southern appeal to her and blended in the crowd when she wasn't singing as if she was a spectator but stood out with that shining star quality. Case, well everybody knows how Case gets down! Lol! The dude was fried! For all who don't know what fried is, let me explain it like this; If you could cook with Patron, your brain would be the eggs! (Get it!) Cooked got daggit! The fool in this nice environment, cursed like a sailor and threw the mic stand off the stage. It was a good performance although. He brought two ladies out of the crowd who sang background for his hit "Happily Ever After." The crowd sang along too which made it the highlight of the night. Shot out to my girl Carla for doing her thing and bringing industry to DC.

I'M SORRY, IF I AFFEND NON SASHA FANS BUT...

I wonder if B would let my alter L-Train Marry Sasha! Hmmm...  I could just imagine.... when I 1st met B at 40/40 NY years ago while playing on the Roc Basketball team @ Rucker park. Jay would put my table next to theirs. B would be so nice to my lady friends with greets of hugs and kisses and gestures like "guuuurl" and other friendly things as if she and my friends new each other forever. Then those times when we were at the game and she would sit on our bench and I would come out the game exhausted from the heat and she would softly say to someone, "get him some water!" Just made my day and would make me bust some a$$ (Pause) on the court! Lol, Then last summer during her tour when i was invited to the show and after party at the 40/40 Atlantic City they sat me on the balcony next to there section and when they entered the over crowded venue Jay gave me the fist to the chest and B gave me the salute, that was all the Love in the world! 1st the line to get in was ridiculous, but as soon as I got out the car the manager greeted me and walked us right to our section. It was sick! Anyway back to B. It's evident that B thinks I'm a cool dude, so why wouldn't she hook Sasha up with L-Train? I think that would be a great match. Look... (Things in common)
Sasha traveled the world- L-Train traveled the world
Sasha's an entertainer- LTrain is an entertainer
Sasha gets crazy on the stage- L Train gets crazy on the court
Sasha's a Virgo- L Train is a Scorpio
(great Love match)

I think that's enough! Anyway, we'll see what's up next time I see B and we'll chit chat about it and see what's good. Until then, Sasha keep on rocking that glove and let B wear the ring!

American Gangster: Cornell Jones

Yesterday BET aired the story of DC's own American Gangster Cornell Jones.  Most of you may know Cornell as the owner of the Tunnel (a Washington DC club.) Cornell has been on the DC scene on both sides of the fence, from being a drug Kingpin to now running a non-profit organization that helps inmates lives after prison. Last night there was a viewing party for Cornell spot on BET's American Gangster @ Jordan 8 in Capitol Hill. There were a lot of "OG's" in the crowd and who's who around town. I was flattered to get an invite and being in the presence of these older cats who have always showed me Love and support through out my career. Just to name a few of the Dc Legends that were in attendance; Ty Madness, John "Bay Bay" Duren, Cliff, Tony Lewis and many more. It was a good time and a wonderful story of transformation and change. Big ups to Cornell Jones! Here's his Rap sheet...

CORNELL JONES

Case File
Rayful Edmond’s predecessor as D.C.’s drug kingpin was a native son who quietly plied his trade in the shadow of the Capitol, and ultimately developed a network that funneled drugs throughout major cities of the Eastern seaboard and even throughout Europe. He also gets “credit” for the accidental invention of a hallucinative mix of pot and PCP that was loosely known on the streets of D.C. as “butt naked,” helping to turn D.C. into a mecca for “angel dust.”

For years, Jones stayed under the radar of law enforcement by developing a business model that emphasized harmony over violence, while keeping a low personal profile and funneling much of his profits into legitimate businesses. He did it so well that his arrest and incarceration in 1985 created a huge vacuum in the D.C., drug trade, leading to unprecedented murder rates. Since Jones’ release, he’s run a non-profit organization to help inmates prepare for life after prison.

If She Get These For Christmas...

I know what I better be getting! Another step your Passport up item, the Giusseppe Zanotti Christmas Shoe goes for 850 euros, that's roughly $1059.45 Can Obama make change that fast before Christmas? Lol! You better be single with no kids if you cop these for someone. That recession making Toys R Us close some of it's stores. This shoe has a chrome platform with a 5.5 inch heel. Yes! That'll look good on Santa's helper!

  Dear Santa,
Please send her, I am scared of elves and dears and stuff. I left her some egg nog and a little PatnRon to go with it. And these brownies my friend from Jamaica said she'll love. I'll take good care of her, I promise! Thanks Santa.

P.S. If you don't mind Santa, can she stay the night?

Thank You,
From your best behaved grown a$$ man L-Train

Birthday Blog II

First off, i have to thank all the people who made my Birthday events one to remember! I have to thank my family, Loved ones, friends and my party team who held me down for four long nights of partying til the lights came on. The Grand Finale last night was definitely a grown and sexy party @ Skye Lounge (every Monday/ Plug!). Beautiful people came out and made the event one to remember. I have a few moments that were the highlight of the weekend. Friday night Mike Walker doing a great job of getting us started and almost keeping us from making it to the party. Lol! Saturday, shuttin down Layla with our party team! All eyes on us. Monday was the biggest highlight, with the birthday toast and a few tricks from my peeps. I was brought a bottle of Rose' with two glasses for me and my Barby Doll Bride! lol! They said that's the closest thing to me having a wife, ha! So that was my marriage. I posted on facebook that I was getting married, so there you have it. But the thing that I will remember the most is a card that I received from a good friend. I have to share this because it was very touching and made me feel good inside. It read like this...

  "Celebrating a Good Man"

A lot of guys out there think they're men
because they act tough and talk rough.
Real men know that wisdom is true strentgh,
that gentleness is a virtue...
a lot of guys brag,
real men don't have to.
There actions speak louder than words.
a lot of guys blame anyone and everything
for what doesn't go their way.
Real men accept life's challenges and use them to grow...
How do I know all this?
Because i've watched you.
and I see how a good man,
a real man, leads a good life.
So many people are celebrating you today,
and i'm proud to be one of them!

... This was the highlight of my birthday and i am greatly appreciative of it. To my friend who gave me this, thank you very much and I appreciate our friendship.

Birthday Blog I

Day 1 Is in the books! We got it poppin yesterday early for my Bday weekend. Started off @ Pure for happy hour, (over on Ust) nice little spot to get things going. Thanks Mike Walker. And stop trying to get people fried so they can't leave! LOL!  We left there and went to Love… Common performed @ Love and put on a great show. We didn't wait til he was done to get it started, we partied as soon as we got to our section. People were sending me bottles as Bday gifts on top of what we already had. We were over 20 deep and couldn't finish them. Soooo….. We just shared the love with anybody. I had a ball to start the weekend off!

Day 2 we continued it at Layla Lounge, when I tell you that you can have your own party inside a party, trust me... we had an audience. Everybody in the club was in awe of our section. We got it in!  DJ Harry Hotter I must say killed it! The club got packed wall-to-wall and how it's set up, our section is all the way in the back on a plat form about two steps up.  We had over 50 people in our section. Around 40 women and 10 guys made up our party inside the party. This is just how it goes down for my BDAy. It ain't over yet!  Stay tuned for Day 3 tonight @ Park and the Grand Finale @ Skye Lounge on Monday.

BARACKS JOURNEY TO CHANGE

It was a journey he prepared and one we all watched, in as many weeks as our economy fail, our communities grew stronger. The economy out weighed the growth of our communities until that night he was elected. Immediately after his election, all that our souls prepared for came pouring out. it showed in the streets, on television and over seas. This man is not only the President of the United States, he is also a Representative of the world, a man with a purpose! The Presidency is the job title he will hold but the job travels far more than it's boundaries. Check out the piece below.

SASHA PERFORMANCE

AMBRES OBAMA TEES. HOT STUFF

A good friend of mine is doing it really big right now with hand painted Obama tees. Not your ordinary print off the press make'em every 5 minutes on demand, these tees are hand painted one-by-one by artist/model Ambre Anderson. The shirts are so hot that Ambre has received the Woman of Distinction Legacy Award and is featured on UptownLife.net. She traveled to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver and sold shirts she's selling them online @ ArtworbyAmbre.com they're popping up all over the place. This is a historical moment and we all know what history and paintings have to do with one another. Cop one and remember the times! The damage is only $25! "Yes we can!"

ANN NIXON COOPER BEFORE & AFTER THE ELECTION

See her interview she had today here... Ann Nixon Cooper

CONGRATULATIONS B.O.

All I can say is, "Oh What a night!" If the streets of DC last night after President Obama was elected, showed signs of our America to come, It was nothing but Love! It looked like a Martin Luther King Dream! When a black Democratic candidate wins a Republican strong hold state like Virginia, you know that a change is being made. Obama has a purpose here, he is definitely a man who has been put here to make a change. You know how people say that people come into your life for a reason? Well Barack has just walked in your house! Lol! I'm sorry too those of you who didn't vote for Obama and for whatever reason but I'm asking that you embrace this victory and accept this man as your President. He'll get America back to the country that the world knows. It's not about the red or blue states but like Obama said, "it's about the United States!" Tonight, the power of Democracy prevailed! Praise Jesus!

Car For Sale

Through out my years living in Miami and L.A. i have been introduced to a lot of things.  One of them is auto's! Although I hate driving, I love fast cars. More so racing then street cars. Soooo that brings me to this investment that I've made and now i am trying to pass it on. As you can see this car is a beauty and is a full customized vehicle from wheels to frame. I know it's a recession but not for everyone. If interested in buying, price and specifics, email me at primeobjective21@gmail.com

BARACK THE VOTE!

Here we go! Today is one of the biggest days of the rest of our lives. We can either do what we think is right, or sit back and let someone else determine our future.  As we all know we are faced with a huge decision by selecting our next President. We all have been witnessing the build up of the most important election of our time. The battle between parties and candidates, the jokes on television shows and the heated debates. I can confess that this election is the 1st election that i feel involved. I feel like my vote matters today! I can care less about what happened in the past with President Bush, I can't change that. But I do know that today I can change tomorrow.  In this day and time we as people all know that our eyes are being covered, mouths being shut and ears clogged with what the media builds as the biggest crisis in our lives, the war and our economy. Grant it that those two things are important in our world and needs to be changed but at the end of the day, we have learned from the past reign in the white house that our voices fall short to the decision makers of the house. They can listen but after all the final decision is there's no matter what!  For that reason, I'm focusing on something different in this election that the media isn't glorifying.  I see a man who is  on the verge of bringing a country together and sitting the race card aside. It started out as a black man running for President but now it's "Obama's" running for President.  Yes it will be history when he makes it in the White House, but I'm looking forward to the people of our world seeing a man that will bridge the gap in our communities as a start and then working to make things better in foreign policies. Today is a great day in America no matter who you voted for and today we have a chance to come together in America and see the change begin!

The Microphone King Speaks about why we should vote!

A Illy Gone Again

The Lil homey is back on the East Coast! A.I. is being traded to the Detroit Pistons for Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess. I think this is a good trade for Detroit and Denver. Denver gets a solid point guard thats bigger and can compete with the dominant guards of the West coast. Detroit is getting a game changer. Rasheed has been waiting for this forever! Detroit will definitely be the bad boys for real now. I couldn't imagine chasing A.I. and Rip Hamilton around for 48 min. Sheesh, can't wait to see that. Oh yeah, now the party is that much better! December 8th, Rasheed Wallace and King Magazine Model Call and party, guess what? With special guest judges, Rip Hamilton and A.I. hahahaha I like doing this!

Celebrity Video: Don't Vote

Please watch the whole thing to get the point:

R.I.P. SHAKIR STEWART

D.C. native and Def Jam EVP & A&R Shakir Stewart was found dead today in his apartment.  Sources say from self inflicted gun wounds.  Shakir did a lot of work with a bunch of major artist such as...Beyonce, Ciara, Rick Ross and Young Jeezy to name a few.  Under the Def Jam Umbrella with Jay Z and L.A. Reid, Shakir held his own. It's tragic to see a young soul go that way.  I had the opportunity to work on a project with Shakir and he was definitely an intelligent business man and a great person. My condolences goes out to the Stewart family.

I AM JOE THE PLUMBER? LMFAO!

For real McCain, give up. This is not a fight for you nor your party right now. Is this all y'all can come up with at the bottom of the 9th ending? Copying off Microsoft's "I am a PC" commercial is not getting a point across. 1st off, it seems to me that the folks in this commercial all make less than $250,000 that will make them qualify for Obama's tax break. This is a mess to me. Please people, leave a comment and let me know what you think of this!
